The AFPs first ever podcast created by the ACCCE - Closing the Net, has been nominated as a finalist for Best Documentary podcast at the 2021 Australian Podcast awards.

First established in 2015, the Australian Podcast Awards is an annual celebration of the quality and breadth of Australian podcast content. Over 20 categories consisting of five finalists are judged by a panel of experts, as well as a Listeners Choice Award as voted by the public.

Closing the Net takes listeners inside the world of the AFP, the ACCCE and those policing the ‘borderless crime’ of online child sexual exploitation. The podcast brings some hard-to-tell stories out from the shadows and into the public consciousness in order to help prevent this horrendous crime type.

With two successful seasons narrated by father and Australian actor, Rodger Corser and Australian actress and mother, Caroline Craig, each episode focuses on a different aspect of combating online child sexual exploitation and highlighting the work of the ACCCE.

First launched on 23 June 2021, the podcast has now been downloaded more than 66,000 times.
